A Trip In A Travel Trailer

A trailer has got many uses. It serves as a storage medium for bulk goods or items that cannot fit in the car or items that can distort the comfort of the driver and the passengers in the car. Apart from this purpose, a travel trailer can be useful for trips. For example, you might be traveling to a place for camping purposes. Instead of having to mount a tent, you can simply use a travel trailer which has been equipped with a few amenities. When towing a trailer, there is no doubt that you will encounter many challenges on the way. Therefore, you have to take into account several factors before the onset of your journey. Here is how to plan a trip in a travel trailer.

First things to consider

From the outset, it is important to take into account the size of the vehicle you will be using. This is something that you cannot even rule out because it has a very huge bearing on the safety of you and the other drivers on the road. When choosing the size of the trailer, make sure it has a weight which is fairly smaller than the weight of your car or truck. When you need a much larger trailer, ensure that you take truck with you or any other vehicle with appreciable degree of pulling strength and weight. A larger trailer will increase the momentum of your vehicle. As a result, you will need to move a bit faster than usual. If this is the case, then you will need more space between you and the vehicle just ahead of you. A smaller trailer will make it much easier for you to break because it will not increase the momentum of your vehicle by a marginal degree. Before you can choose a trailer, make sure that you have the right size of the hitch. Consult experts on the size of the hitch you will need for a particular trailer. Sometimes you may have to install a new hitch if the current size of your hitch is not of the right size.

The next things to consider

When you have determined the right size of the trailer depending on the vehicle and the nature of the trip, you have to move to another stage in decision making. Inmost cases, you have to take into account the purpose of your trip. If you are going for a picnic, you have to get a trailer whose capacity can accommodate all the necessary items. Alternatively, you can choose a travel trailer that has been equipped with all the necessary amenities such as toilets, beds, dustbins and showers. Do not be carried out by the features of a trailer, make sure its weight can be supported by your vehicle to avoid tripping. Travel trailers that have been equipped with various amenities are good for camping, especially during rainy weather, or when it is very cold.

When planning a trip in a travel trailer, you have to make sure that the sizes of your trailer can be towed safely by your vehicle. You also have to ensure that you have the travel trailer with right amenities on it depending on your need. Experts are of the opinion that towing small travel trailers is a safer bet compared to towing large ones, especially for the rookies.

You can find more information on travel trailers at leescountryrv.com and for rv parts for things like rv door locks and rv table legs and bases go to rvpartsdealer.com.

RV Table Legs and Bases

If you are wondering about how to stabilize your dining table in your travel trailer, you are not alone. RV Table legs and supports come in different heights, but are usually all the same diameter. The difference is usually in the base itself. There are two different types of table bases. The first is a flush mount which requires a hole in the floor for the cone portion of the base into the floor. The second, which is the most commonly used table base, just requires being screwed to the floor and to the bottom of the table.

You can find all these products on the Internet such as RV parts dealer.com. You would usually go to the RV hardware section, and will find something similar to table legs or table supports. Click on that feature and it should take you to where you want to be. This would not be found in the RV cabinet hardware section.

You should also be able find other items such as RV door locks and RV portable waste tanks.

    Forest River Inc.

Talk about doing something right, Peter Liegl was on to something in 1996. That’s when he started Forest River Inc, manufacturer of travel trailers, fifth wheels, motor homes, hybrid campers and tent campers. Forest River Inc. is now one of the worlds largest RV manufacturers. They manufacture Brands like Wildwood RV, Surveyor RV, and Sandpiper RV. Each one with different characteristics, graphics and floor plans. Forest River offers something for every taste and budget, something that’s makes them so attractive. Headquartered in Elkhart Indiana, RV capitol of the World, they produce thousands of RVs per year that get delivered nationwide.
Wildwood RV is a division of Forest River Inc. and is more of your entry level camper. I say entry level because it don’t cost $30,000 dollars. Pricing typically starts out around 10,000 and goes up form there. Wildwood offers both aluminum sided and fiberglass sided units. Some of the great features of the Wildwood trailer is the Armstrong linoleum and the 80 inch interior height just to name a couple. If you want a great camper, keep Wildwood RV in mind

Burrrr it Cold – Tis the Season

I don’t know why but every year in the summer I say I cant wait for Winter. I guess it’s because the 100 degree days that no matter what you do you just cant cool off. That is unless you sit inside  all day and what fun is that? I guess that’s why the full time RV’ers go south. I couldn’t imagine sitting in my shorts in January celebrating New Years or not having snow on Christmas. Yeah Christmas will be here before we know it and the new year will ring in and we here in Indiana will still be left in the cold. January is when it really starts to get bitter cold, temps where your nose hairs freeze. Anyway back to my blog, I wanted to show you full timers what your missing. In a camper that is. You can also check out RV Info  for more.

Yet it’s the little touches that are often the most striking. Like the fluted wood accents, raised panel cabinet doors, and crown molding. They all lend to a clean and sharp look.

In fact, the Wyoming strikes elegance with easy everyday use. Base cabinets with toe kicks and deluxe counter tops are just a couple examples.
